Alexandra “Alex” Kielty is the Disability Workforce Development Specialist for National Disability Institute's (NDI) technical assistance to Disability Employment Initiative (DEI) grants with the Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration (ETA). Alex retired from ETA in 2011, following 32 years of public service where she led disability-related workforce policy and programs. Alex has worked closely with the Social Security Administration to provide opportunities for entry or reentry to the world of work and economic independence, including workforce engagement with Ticket to Work. Having been involved with the systemic evolution of workforce legislation since the 1970’s, she is now engaged in Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) implementation and its impact on access for adults and youth with disabilities. Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Arts in Guidance and Counseling.
